林杰樑過去總是在媒體上侃侃談論健康知識，私底下參加政府會議也常據理力爭。但一場莫名的感染，卻讓國內這位毒物科權威倒下，病況惡化如此之快？

新光醫院腎臟科主治醫師江守山指出，林長年接受血液透析改善腎臟狀況，但洗腎病人的細胞免疫和抗體免疫，都比一般人差，低毒性的細菌和病毒對洗腎者來說，卻可能是高毒性。

江守山認為，林杰樑可能是遭感染病菌產生的毒性，引發敗血性休克，導致多重器官衰竭才驟逝。
