在美國聯準會宣布維持量化寬鬆政策規模不變之下，國際美元走弱，新台幣兌美元23日收29.629元、勁揚1.23角，單日升幅0.42%，不過，若就其他主要貨幣兌美元表現來看，新台幣升幅僅排第七，泰幣及歐元升幅逾1%，分居冠、亞軍，而與新台幣連動密切的韓元升幅也0.96%，排第三。

由於美國聯準會未如市場預期縮減量化寬鬆政策的規模，亞洲貨幣走揚，其中韓元一度來到1073韓元兌1美元，人民幣兌美元中間價也創匯改以來新高。

至於新台幣，23日在亞洲貨幣走揚，加上外資匯入推升下，盤中連續升破29.7及29.6元兩大關卡，來到29.505元、升值2.47角。雖然央行盤中也有調節，但由於亞洲貨幣走揚，央行也未強勢阻升，終場新台幣以29.629元作收、升值1.23角，單日升幅0.42%，也創下5月10日以來新台幣收盤新高價，5月9日新台幣收29.51元。

不過，根據央行提供的主要貨幣兌美元匯率變動資料來看，以新台幣23日下午4時收盤來看，若與9月18日同時間相較，泰幣升值了1.5%居冠，歐元排第二也升值了1.18%，與新台幣連動密切的韓元升幅也有0.96%，從1084.1韓元升值至1073.8韓元兌1美元。

至於英鎊也升值了0.73%；澳幣及星幣升幅也有0.65%及0.63%，都比新台幣升幅大，而印尼幣、日圓及人民幣也都升值，分別升值了0.3%、0.15%及0.02%。
