隨著環保意識的逐漸抬頭，以越趨嚴格的環保法規，各大汽車品牌不只在引擎Downsizing，逐步以小排氣量在加渦輪增壓器的組合著墨，也推出許多替代科技能源，諸如純電動、Hybrid複合動力、氫燃料電池等技術應運而生，不過回到根本，各大車廠也針對生產流程進行革新，而NISSAN也早於2000年就推動了名為NGP（NISSAN-Green-Program）環境維護計畫，致力於改善整體產能與商品的平均碳排放量，堪稱是汽車產業對於綠能保護的表率。
