聯合航空投資舊金山國際機場，第3航廈的登機區E預計在1月28日重新啟用，6萬8800平方英尺的登機區設計首重能源與環境，獲得美國綠色建築委員會的金牌認證。

登機區E將會提供聯合航空的旅客10道登機門，每日將有超過50班次的飛行起降。

該區E坐擁零距離觀賞機場起降的景觀，同時以位居23英尺高的落地窗鳥瞰灣區。此外，也有互動式的訊息和娛樂區、免費無線上網、灣區藝術家Eric Staller設計的互動式孩童遊樂區與瑜伽室等設施。
