路肩盡頭是水溝 騎士溺斃

嘉義縣鹿草鄉後寮村的77歲汪姓老翁，22日晚上外出後未歸，前天傍晚被家人發現他及所騎的機車都掉進嘉167線旁的排水溝，已經死亡，由於此處是路肩與水溝連在一起，家屬認為是工程設計不當導致老翁冤死，表示將請求國賠。

鹿草鄉長林沐惠得知此事後，昨天早上先到現場會勘，認為路肩與水溝竟然連在一起且沒有任何阻隔物及警示標語，確實很危險，昨天下午立即在連接處放置警示三角錐，避免再發生憾事。

家屬推測，因為水溝與路肩是連在一起，老翁在返家途中行經該路肩時，未料到路肩的盡頭竟是水溝，所以才會直接衝進水溝慘遭溺斃，家屬強烈質疑因這項工程設計不當，才會造成老翁冤死。

不過，這條道路究竟是縣府還是公路總局設計發包，鄉公所並不清楚，今天將調閱相關資料並與設計單位研商改善措施。對於家屬擬請求國賠，林沐惠表示，如果經調查確有設計不當之處，將協助家屬聲請。
