就我所知 7月有一個台中市「谷動山城、勢在必行」活動，活動主辦再東勢與谷關，活動日期好像是7/20~8/18的每周六、日，其中都有專人針對東勢與谷關商圈的人文景點帶領導覽，像東勢有沿著中山路閱覽一連串的客家景點的導覽之旅，還可以搭成清朝劉銘傳時期的復古火車與親手製作客家紀念品，我覺得滿有趣的。
到谷關的話就有部落文化與生態導覽、泰雅族原住民與狩獵技術體驗，與大甲溪生態體驗、五葉松蛋捲DIY，小孩子也可以稱此機會有些難得的體驗，(這樣暑假作業比較好寫!!)

而東勢與谷關本身就有許多著名景點，像東勢體驗除了客家文化旅程，還有東勢林場或是享受客家美食，谷關就可以泡泡冷泉、溫泉、踏青吃鱘龍魚料理，而且東勢與谷關本身就是中橫的一部分，再開車之餘還可以欣賞美景，非常值得去一遊。
